How I found Yoga

Yoga: A Gift to Yourself

When I was working as a special needs caregiver, I overstrained my already weak back, which was genetically predisposed to be a problem. During my school years, I spent most of my gym classes writing punishment assignments because I saw no point in running in circles. As a result, my belief was: "Sports are for others, not for me."

But my back left me no choice. I had to do something. So, I joined a back training course, went to the gym, and even tried yoga. At first, it was a lot of breathing, meditation, and a seemingly endless final relaxation. As I explored different approaches through books, DVDs, and online videos, I discovered just how incredibly diverse yoga can be. Many exercises overlap with physiotherapy, fitness, and Pilates. "Oh, this is yoga too?"

After practicing just 15 minutes a day, I became pain-free. My back, which once struggled with backbends, can now manage a full wheel pose. It may not be perfect, but yoga isn’t about perfection!

Because it has helped me so much—physically, mentally, and emotionally—I want to encourage you to find your own yoga path and style. Yoga is a gift to yourself!
